The Accountancy Internship Recruiting Calendar for 2009

  • May 1, 2009 – November 30, 2009:
    • Employers seeking interns for Spring 2010 should post a JOB DESCRIPTION(S) on Victor eRecruiting.

    • Students interested in Spring 2010 academic internships should submit applications for those Spring 2009 internships via Victor eRecruiting; this may be done at any time.
  • June 1 - October 20, 2009:
  • September 28: Mandatory student meeting for Intern candidates at 5:30 in Barsema Auditorium (alternate date: September 29 @ 7:15 in the Barsema Auditorium)
  • October 9: Student Internship Application Forms due in Accountancy Office
  • October 20: Deadline for students to post resumes on Victor eRecruiting. Students must indicate SUMMER 2010 or SPRING 2011 or EITHER.
  • October 23: Employers have access to screened resumes on Victor eRecruiting
  • October 28: Meet the Intern Night, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., Duke Ellington Ballroom; Holmes Student Center. Only registered students may attend.
  • October 23 - November 13: Firms select students to interview by using Victor eRecruiting
  • November 18, 12:01 a.m.: Firm selections disclosed to students; students select firms and times to interview through 12:01 a.m. on November 24.
  • December 3: Interview Schedules become available for employers to print/review.
  • December 14 - 18: Interviews conducted at Campus Life Building, Suite 260, Corner of Lucinda Avenue and Normal Road
  • After December 18, 2009, firms will contact students directly to schedule second interviews, which will be conducted at the employer's location
  • January 8, 2010: Second interviews/firm visits should be completed
  • February 5, 2010: Internship offers from employers should be received
  • February 5, 2010: All internship offers must remain open until this date; firms should NOT require students to accept prior to this date.
  • March 5, 2010: Internship offers should be accepted
  • Students must notify Tamara Phelan (tphelan@niu.edu) as to which firm a student will be performing an internship AS SOON AS THE INTERNSHIP IS ACCEPTED.
