Academic Advising & Student ServicesThe College of Business is home to centralize academic advising and has professional advisors at the college and department levels. The college advising office, Undergraduate Studies in Business, is located in Barsema Hall 201. The academic advisors in Undergraduate Studies assist freshmen and sophomore business majors including all students not yet enrolled in our upper-level business programs (300/400 level course work) with course planning, exploring our majors and minors, understanding of the lower level business core requirements (see College Core Requirements), general education requirements, community college articulation, and guidance on topics such as policies, procedures, and graduation requirements. The college advisors also assist students in academic difficulty and those wanting to pursue university and course withdrawals. If you have a quick question, contact us at COBAdvisingHelp@niu.edu. Students are strongly advised to meet with their academic advisor each semester. Although walk-in hours may be available, students are encouraged to schedule an appointment. Please remember to bring your degree audit (available through My NIU) when you meet with your advisor. |
