2014 Beta Gamma Sigma Medallion for Entrepreneurship Award Winner
Scott Kluth

Kluth graduated from the Northern Illinois University College of Business in 1999 with a B.S. degree in Operations Management & Information Systems ("OM&IS"). Upon graduation, he began his career with Sears Corporation where he and his team were charged with developing the company's website, Sears.com. While researching the way customers transact, Kluth shopped Sears' competitors to see how others would ship and package merchandise. Because he was ordering so many items, Kluth started using coupon codes to save the company money. The idea for his business, CouponCabin.com, came in late 2002 as an opportunity to help consumers save money by building a website of coupon codes from a variety of companies.

By 2008, his company was ranked 163 of the 5,000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America and one of MSN.com's Most Useful Sites — a tribute to the incredible impact he brought to American consumers. As the company continued to grow, Kluth increased the depth and reach of the website by adding grocery and printable in-store coupons to make CouponCabin.com a true one-stop shop for savings. In doing this, he continued to touch the lives of busy and money-conscious shoppers during the recession. Today, CouponCabin is a leading online coupon site, drawing millions of repeat customers each month. With more than 500,000 active coupons from 5,000+ online stores, CouponCabin saves its users over $250,000,000 annually.
