Board of Executive Advisors
The Board of Executive Advisors (BOEA) of the College of Business is key to the success of the college. As stakeholders, they represent many types of organizations and geographic regions.
Members serve for a six year term after which they may become associate members. Members and associate members meet formally twice a year. In addition members have a partnership with the college where we may assist each other in many ways.
Members are asked at each meeting to provide the college with advice on a variety of matters such as:
- Strategic planning
- Hiring and promotion practices
- Global business issues
- Workplace diversity
- Assessment areas

Message from the Dean
The Board of Executive Advisors (BOEA) for NIU's College of Business plays key roles in helping the college identify strategic initiatives, develop ties with business partners, keep its curriculum current and relevant, and strengthen student and faculty relationships with current business practice. Since its inception in 1979, the BOEA has played a major role in shaping the direction of the college.
Our Board Members contribute a significant amount of time, energy, effort and attention to their role in advising the college. Members commit to a minimum three year term, but most sign up for a second term and then remain as Associate Members indefinitely. As the dean of the College, I am very appreciative of the knowledge base and leadership experience the membership offers. It will be my pleasure to work with the Board of Executive Advisors to move the College of Business at NIU forward in the years ahead.
