    • Microfinance Study Abroad
As part of the Microfinance course (link to course catalogue) students learn about micro-lending and how access to capital changes the lives of the poor. The class is unique in that it is small, usually limited to 10 students per class. An understanding of microfinance is developed through interactive activities, engaging case studies, and colorful discussions. Towards the end of the semester students travel to Mexico where they get to experience and apply the knowledge they have learned. Here is what a recent student had to say about their experience in Mexico: www.cob.niu.edu/studentvoices/index.php/life-lessons-abroad/
