Bachelor of Science in Business Administration

NIU's Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) program prepares you for a successful career in a variety of different business functions, roles and industries: accounting, finance, management, marketing, operations management and information systems. Graduates are prepared for a wide range of entry-level positions in a variety of organizations.

Choose Your Path

NIU offers three options for BSBA students: the BSBA DeKalb program, the BSBA Rockford program and the BSBA Hoffman Estates program. Choose the one that best fits your needs.

BSBA DeKalb

Is this program for you?
Incoming freshman and transfer students

Where are classes held?
NIU DeKalb Campus

What is required for admission?
For freshman admission, see Admission to NIU. As a transfer student, an Associate of Art or Associate of Science Degree with 60 credit hours including 10 pre-requisite courses (with at least a "C" or better) and minimum 2.75 Cumulative GPA are required. How long to earn the degree?
For freshmen, four years as a full-time student on the NIU DeKalb Campus. For transfer students, two years at a community college and two years on the NIU DeKalb Campus as a full-time student

BSBA Rockford

Is this program for you?
Transfer students

Where are classes held?
NIU Rockford Campus

What is required for admission?
As a transfer student, an Associate of Art or Associate of Science Degree with 60 credit hours including 10 pre-requisite courses (with at least a "C" or better) and minimum 2.75 Cumulative GPA are required. How long to earn the degree?
Two years at a community college and two years on the NIU Rockford Campus as a full-time student

BSBA Hoffman Estates

Is this program for you?
Transfer students interested in an evening full-time program from the following partnership community colleges: Elgin Community College, Harper College, College of Lake County, McHenry County College, and Oakton Community Colleges.

Where are classes held?
NIU Hoffman Estates Campus

What is required for admission?
As a transfer student, an Associate of Art or Associate of Science degree with 60 credit hours including the completion of the 10 pre-requisite courses (with at least a C grade or better) and a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA are required. See Admission to NIU as a transfer student for details and College Core Requirements for details. This is a cohort program and so a separate selective admission form within the College of Business is required prior to applying to NIU. How long to earn the degree?
This is a degree completion program and so once junior standing is obtained, 10 pre-requisites courses are completed, and a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA is earned – NIU will be offering the last 2 years of the degree on a full-time basis. See BSBA in Hoffman Estates for additional information.
