Bachelor of Science in Marketing

The College of Business offers a Bachelors of Science Degree in Marketing providing students many areas of study from which to choose including our two leading-edge areas: Professional Sales and Interactive Marketing. Students can custom design an area of study to fit their career goals by selecting electives to create your personal area of study and satisfy the elective requirements of the major at the same time. Examples of other areas of study include International Marketing and Strategic Marketing.

Professional Sales Program

The Deparment of Marketing has developed a unique niche for our majors by offering a special track of courses in professional sales. Only two other universities nationwide offer such a comprehensive program. Students who complete the sales track curriculum have received sales positions with companies of their choice, and 90 percent of sales-track students are offered positions prior to graduation. Interactive Marketing

The Department of Marketing also offers an area of study in Interactive Marketing, one of the fastest growing aspects of Marketing today. The area of study is supported by the Chicago Association of Direct Marketing Educational Foundation and offers students a state of the art curriculum in Interactive Marketing. Graduates with an Interactive Marketing area of study are in demand in direct marketing service bureaus, direct mail production houses, advertising agencies, and corporations using direct marketing. Student Portfolio: A Competitive Advantage

Required for graduation, marketing majors must complete a student portfolio. The portfolio consists of examples of work from different marketing courses that illustrate mastery of the eight learning objectives for the NIU Marketing Department.
