Dr. Omar Ghrayeb joined the Northern Illinois University College of Engineering and Engineering Technology in 2001. He currently serves as the department chair and an associate professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. Dr. Ghrayeb's research interests include production system design and optimization, scheduling heuristics, facilities layout and design, applied operations research and supply chain management. He has worked on projects for many companies including Motorola, Caterpillar, UPS and Sears. He holds a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in industrial engineering from New Mexico State University.
