About the Center

The College of Business Experiential Learning Center (ELC) tackles the challenges faced by real-world organizations. Every semester, teams of elite NIU College of Business graduate and undergraduate students consult with non- and for-profit sponsoring organizations on a wide variety of business and organizational issues. Guided by a faculty coach, the teams bring theoretical knowledge, technical expertise, and a fresh perspective to every project.

Eligibility

The ELC is open to graduate and undergraduate students that have completed UBUS 310 or an equivalent course. ELC team members earn 3.0 credit hours under UBUS 485*.

Application Information

How to Apply: To participate, students must submit an application, cover letter and resume to Jane Mall, Alumni & Corporate Relations, Northern Illinois University. Applications can be dropped off in the ELC, suite 303 of Barsema Hall or submitted by email to jmall@niu.edu. Once the application is received, a formal interview will be scheduled with the ELC staff and project coaches. Teams are chosen by the project coaches and all applicants are notified before the end of the semester.

Credit Hours:  3 credit hours UBUS 485*
