With the purpose of providing scholarships for outstanding students, the NIU Executive Club's 10th Annual Endowed Scholarship Gala provided a lively evening of dinner, dancing, networking and enjoyment for everyone attending this splendid event. We are very pleased to announce that over $52,000 was raised for the endowed scholarship fund at this year's event. View photos of the event. . .
Ryan Lotich, the 2005 Executive Club Scholarship recipient, spoke about how the scholarship program changed his life and his college career. The scholarship not only provided financial support, it also offered a resource of business executives to tap into for mentoring, internships, career guidance and business networking opportunities.
The 2008 NIU Executive Club Scholarship Recipient, Kevin Cech, was introduced and spoke about his career goals and how the scholarship will help him to reach those goals.
Nicholas Pikor was also introduced as the first scholarship recipient of the NIU Young Professionals Network scholarship, in partnership with the NIU Executive Club. Because the Executive Club scholarship endowment has grown significantly, the Executive Club is pleased to be able to expand its offerings of scholarships to outstanding students.
Kevin was selected as the 2008 NIU Executive Club Scholar, and Nicholas was chosen as the 2008 YPN Scholar based on their outstanding academic, extracurricular, and service record. The Club also believes that both Kevin and Nicholas possess the right qualities and have the potential to become successful business leaders.
The NIU Executive Club Founders Award presentation was another highlight of the evening. William Boston was selected as the 2008 recipient of the Founders Award based on his outstanding leadership, commitment and dedication to the Club. Bill has always provided insightful leadership to help develop the Club from its infancy into the outstanding organization it has become today.
The success of the 2008 Endowed Scholarship Gala is made possible by the generous support of our sponsors. On behalf of the NIU Executive Club, we would like to thank the Gold Sponsors who provided additional support: Sagent Pharmaceuticals and NIU MBA Programs. We also would like to thank and offer our great appreciation to all the table sponsors, silent auction donors, and volunteers who gave of their time to help us reach our fundraising goals.
