Since its founding in 1995, the NIU Executive Club has served its intended purpose thanks to the many contributions of our members. We have strengthened alumni ties to the College of Business and the University, sponsored social events and networking opportunities that have fostered friendships and business relationships, and most importantly, provided scholarships to deserving students.
Each of us can be justifiably proud of our accomplishments in 2008. The Club's 10th annual dinner dance in November raised another $50,000 for the scholarship fund, bringing the endowment to over $600,000. Five talented students who aspire to careers in business received scholarships. (Click here for more info) Over 70 students participated in the Club's job shadowing program last spring with member firms. The Young Professionals Network grew both in number and quality of program initiatives. We capped the year by honoring Bill Boston, Chairman and CEO of Dynamic Signals, LLC, and one of the Club's early and most continuously involved board members, with the Founders' Award presented by Bob Adducci and Dave Wilson. More details on each of these and other accomplishments and activities can be found throughout our Web site: http://www.cob.niu.edu/executiveclub
I encourage you to browse the site soon for a few reasons. First, it is more current and information-packed than ever. Second, the member profile section has been expanded so you can add more business and/or personal information about yourself and learn more about other members as well in the process. Third, it is an easy and effective way to access additional information about what's happening at the College and at NIU.
As we move forward this year, you can expect to be hearing a lot more not only about our existing programs like the Face-to-Face meetings, B2B networking breakfasts and annual Golf Outing, but about several new initiatives as well that are aimed at taking the NIU Executive Club "to the next level" in membership and member services.
Sincerely,
Roy Schultz (FINA 00)
President NIU Executive Club
