Financial Management Association (FMA)
FMA International is a professional organization of financial executives, analysts, professors, and students who live and work around the world. We are currently the largest finance organization devoted to bridging the gap between finance theory and practice. All majors in good academic standing can join FMA.
Our Local NIU Chapter
At NIU, FMA meets on Thursday nights at 7:00pm. Members are treated to a speaker - speakers include finance professionals, business entrepreneurs, and finance professors. FMA membership establishes you as a part of an important network of professionals in finance and expands your resume by providing proof of your interest in your discipline. These objectives are met by encouraging social interaction between students, faculty, and businesses. Professional speakers, fundraising, and community service are just a few activities available to members of FMA.
You need 150pts to be ACTIVE and of this at least 30pts has to come from community service and/or fundraising. To be OUTSTANDING you have to have over 150pts and of this 45pts have to be community service and/or fundraising. Top five point recipients recognized.

Every semester, FMA offers its members personal business cards to hand out to potential employers. FMA members are encouraged to bring them to job and internship fairs, and to our semi-annual Meet the Firm night. Each FMA member receives 30 business cards upon joining FMA.
