Professorships & Fellowships

Endowments generate earnings, a portion of which supports scholarships, teaching, programming, research, the libraries, and athletics. The principal is invested for the long term, sustaining Northern throughout even the most uncertain times. Named Professorships allow the university to provide the additional salary and research support needed to attract, develop, retain, and recognize its most deserving faculty, which in turn, benefits Northern's students and programs.
