Ed Brata, Marketing Department Instructor, received the 2005 NIU Outstanding Teaching Award for instructors. Additionally, Ed was one of two College of Business professors nominated by students to receive the 2006 NIU Student Choice Award, created by the NIU Student Association as a way for students to nominate those faculty and staff from across the university who they consider to be the best at working with students and teaching in the classroom. Jon Briscoe, Associate Professor of Management, received the 2006 Executive MBA Golden Apple Award as the outstanding first-year professor in the Executive MBA program. Brisco received the award based on votes from students in the EMBA Class of 2006.

Jim Johnson, Professor of Finance, received the 2006 Executive MBA Golden Apple Award as the outstanding second-year professor in the Executive MBA program. Johnson received the award based on votes from students in the EMBA Class of 2006.
