Faculty at the NIU College of Business are some of the best teacher-scholars from around the world. Among the college's faculty are Fulbright Scholars, Named Professors, Fellows, Outstanding Teaching and Outstanding Research award winners, and for the first time at the university overall, an Endowed Professor. Endowed professorships are the most prestigious faculty honor and support into perpetuity the outstanding excellence of specific university programs. Northern's business faculty serve as board members and associate editors for academic journals. They have written 26 textbooks covering topics such as intermediate accounting, principles of management, international marketing, finance, and pricing policies. In the past five years alone, they've presented hundreds of papers to professional associations and published nearly 400 articles in global academic business journals and magazines. Along with receiving research awards, Northern's business faculty are recipients of the Fulbright Scholars Award, prestigious Presidential Teaching Award, the Outstanding Teaching Award, and the Education Partner Award.
Before they earned their doctoral degrees, the majority of our faculty worked in a professional setting. Many of them maintain ties to businesses by conducting seminars and consulting in their area of expertise.
