Program Statement of Guiding Principles
In support of the mission of the College of Business, the M.B.A. Program strives to provide graduate business education to meet the needs of adult learners in northern Illinois. The Northern Illinois University M.B.A. Program is designed to serve businesses and other organizations by preparing students to be leaders.
NIU's M.B.A. Program recruits working professionals who intend part-time study at campus locations in Hoffman Estates and Naperville. The M.B.A. Program employs qualified faculty who maintain ties with the business community.
Program Objectives
- Prepare adults learners for effect management practice in businesses, public sector agencies, and not-for profit institutions.
- Offer a program with an emphasis on functional and team skills, leadership, interpersonal skills, global and ethical issues.
- Emphasize the understanding and critical evaluation of conceptual and theoretical principles relevant to the decision-making process.
- Build a foundation of long-term business knowledge that helps graduates solve problems, adapt to changing environments, and to develop practical strategies for implementing change in organizations.
