Graduation Criteria

The primary focus of the major is on planning, organizing, decision making, controlling, directing, motivating and supervising. The common courses -- MGMT 335, MGMT 355 -- provide a major foundation on which you may build specialized skills in one of three areas of study.

The Organizational Management area prepares for a variety of entry-level positions in small, medium, and large firms including management trainee programs.

The Human Resource Management area is oriented toward personnel management functions including recruitment, selection, training, compensation and the legal environment of human resource management.

Graduation requirements include the following:

  • A grade of "C" required in all courses required in the major, including business core, elective, or required Management courses.
  • A minimum of 120 hours must be completed to graduate.
  • A minimum of 60 hours (50% of total 120 hour program) is required outside the areas of Business and Economics (excluding ECON 260T and ECON 261T).
  • 6 hours of 400 level credit are required to graduate.
  • 40 hours of 300/400 level credit are required to graduate.
