Department Statement of Guiding Principles
As part of the College of Business, we strive to enhance our students' professional futures by collaborating in a professional and ethical manner to provide inspired teaching for developing critical thinking capabilities and skills, valuable research for creating management knowledge, and meaningful service to students, alumni, the university, scholars, organizations, and communities.
Department Objectives
To provide educational opportunities inside and outside the classroom which prepare students for today's globally-integrated business world
To seek opportunities outside the classroom which improve our students' preparedness for their professional futures
To bring current business issues into students' educations
To improve our ability to engage students in the process of learning
To engage with practicing managers and business organizations to the mutual benefit of department stakeholders (e.g., students, faculty, alumni, organizations)
To develop and maintain life-long reciprocal relationships with our alumni
To engage the academic community in ways which develop and disseminate knowledge about the management of people and organizations
