MMA Website Revamped

IF you haven’t visited www.mmaglobal.org since March of this year, you’re in for a surprise!  The new MMA website was launched shortly before the spring conference, and sports a new look, easier access to information, and improved navigation.

Important upcoming deadlines, and direct links to “What’s New in the MMA” can be accessed now directly from the Home Page.  Clicking the title of any of the stories shown under the “What’s New” heading will link to additional information related to that subject.  Similarly, if you visit the most recent edition of the Marketing Insights newsletter, you’ll find capsule descriptions of the various articles which can be read in full by clicking on the selected link.

Navigation has been improved with the addition of a main menu across the top of each page that offers buttons and drop down menus to access the major content areas.  Clicking the button itself will open the main page for that topic, or users can select a drop down menu item for more specific information.

Certain key features, such as the Directory Search, Contact Us (officers, board members, editors, webmaster), Membership Application, and Conference Program information are now accessible from the RELATED TOPICS navigation menu on the right hand side of any page within the website. In certain sections of the website, additional navigational options will appear to the right as well under the SECTION LINKS title.

As you move throughput the website, you’ll notice that “breadcrumbs” – page names shown in light gray type directly above the page title – offer an additional navigational option should you click on the words shown.  Breadcrumbs offer limited navigation based on page hierarchies, and allow users to easily return to the home page or a main page within a section.

As with all websites, the MMA site is a work-in-progress, and may on occasion experience technical difficulties. Please send any suggestions for additional content, or notifications of technical problems encountered to webmaster Karen James, at kjames@pilot.lsus.edu.
