Welcome to the OM&IS Department! Thank you for considering Operations and Information Management as a possible major. This web site will give you a clear idea of what is needed in order to complete this major in an efficient fashion and will also acquaint you with the services available to you as an OM&IS major.
Graduation and the attainment of that first job are major goals for our students. In order to meet these goals, planning is essential. Making out a course schedule for your remaining semesters here at NIU is important in achieving your career goals. I would be happy to assist you with this. My door is always open to speak with you about developing a course plan and addressing any problems or concerns you may have about the major or your career choice.
We also encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities offered to you by the student organizations in the department. The Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP), APICS-- The Association for Operations Management, and OM&IS SAB provide excellent opportunities to develop your professional skills while becoming more involved with the department.
