Declare or Change of Major: Declare (or change) your major in the College of Business Undergraduate Studies Office, Barsema Hall 201.
Registration: Registration procedures, timetables, and class offerings are available on-line. Go to the NIU home page at http://www.niu.edu/, click on "MyNIU," and from this page you can:
NOTE: Students who have any encumbrances to the university (such as unpaid fines, tuition, fees, residence hall charges, missing admission documents) will not be allowed to register for classes until all obligations are met.
College of Business Add/Drop Procedures: Add/drop procedures for the College of Business for fall and spring semesters takes place during the first week of classes. Add/drop procedures include: adding or dropping a class, changing a section of the same course. No new classes may be added after the first week.
Repeating a Course: A student may not repeat a course taken at NIU in which a grade of C or better was earned. If a student repeats an NIU course in which a "D" or "F" was earned, the GPA of the student will include only the second attempt at the course. Students may enroll in a business course no more than twice. A withdrawal from a 300- or 400-level business course counts as an enrollment. In all cases, the permanent record will report each attempt at the course.
Withdrawal From a Course/University: Students may drop individual courses through MyNIU through the first week of class. No drops are allowed after week 1 - only course withdrawals will be permitted.
Students may drop all their courses through MyNIU up to the day before classes begin.
Final Examinations: Students whose class schedule commits them to take three final examinations in one day may elect to have the examination in the highest numbered course of the three rescheduled. Students whose class schedule commits them to take two examinations at the same time may have the examination in the higher-numbered course rescheduled.
Grade Appeals: The College of Business has a formal procedure for appealing a grade. Copies of the procedure are available from the University Ombudsman, department offices, and College of Business Undergraduate Studies Office.
Academic Internship Credit: Students are limited to a maximum of 6 semester hours of internship credit within the College of Business in the upper-level program only. See your department advisor for further details.
