Ph.D. from the University of Houston, CPA (Texas)
Dr. Yu joined Northern Illinois University faculty in the Department of Accountancy in the Fall of 2007. She has a bachelor's degree from Jilin University in China, a master's degree in accountancy from the University of Houston. Her Ph.D. in accountancy was earned at the University of Houston as well. Dr. Yu is a Certified Public Accountant. Dr. Yu teaches Financial Reporting I and Intermediate Cost Management. Her research interests include corporate governance, earnings management, and segment reporting. Dr Yu, co-authored a research paper which received the American Accounting Association's Midwest Region 2008 Best Paper Award.
