COMPETITION TIMELINE MCKESSON INFORMATION
WHAT IS A REVERSE JOB FAIR? A typical job fair is where the employer has a table (decorated or not) and tries to attract students to come talk with them. In a REVERSE JOB FAIR, the students are positioned at a table and will try and attract the attention of the employers. During the competition, each student is provided with a 3 foot by 3 foot table with a Plexiglas holder providing the student's name and the company that sponsors the table. The students are free to do anything with the table (without moving it, using electricity, or playing music). The employers will then go around talking with the students. Their table and their appearance are the only things they can use to attract the employers. Each student will have their table and behavior evaluated by "Secret Shoppers" who will evaluate them. The points from this event are used along with voice mail, appointment call, elevator pitches, role play one, role play two and email follow ups to determine the final four to do role play three. Students are recommended to bring with them any materials they want to use to decorate their table (there is little time to go shopping while at NIU). |
