International Week 2009 Keynote Presenter

Alpaslan Korkmaz, President, Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey (ISPAT), will serve as the keynote presenter during the NIU College of Business International Week (November 16-20). Dr. Korkmaz's presentation is entitled "Investment Climate in Turkey with Discussions on Cross-Cultural Negotiation and Dispute Resolution." His presentation will take place on November 19th at 6:00 p.m. in Barsema Auditorium. The presentation is open to all. NIU College of Business students are encouraged to attend what will be a fascinating presentation that is sure to provide insights to students on the workings of the global business environment. NIU business alumni, faculty, and staff are also encouraged to attend. Dr. Korkmaz's speaking engagement is sponsored by the Office of the Dean in the NIU College of Business.

About Alpaslan Korkmaz
Alpaslan Korkmaz serves as the President, Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey (ISPAT), and has done so since October 2006. ISPAT is an agency that reports directly to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey. Prior to his appointment at ISPAT, he was the Director of the Investment Promotion Agency of the State Neuchatel-Switzerland, where he managed a local and international team. During the same period, he was the Deputy Director of the Western Switzerland Economic Development Agency. Dr. Korkmaz, who started his career as a Finance Manager, later became General Manager of a consultancy company involved mainly in the internationalization and globalization processes of enterprises. Dr. Korkmaz holds a PhD in management from Neuchâtel University, Switzerland. He is currently a lecturer at the same university in international management, teaching “International & cross-cultural negotiation & dispute resolution”. He has many publications in international business. He speaks 5 languages.
