The NIU Executive Club & YPN Scholarship was established through gifts from alumni, members of the NIU Executive Club and members of the Young Professionals Network (YPN). The scholarship program was built by the NIU Executive Club with the first scholarship awarded in 1999, and the program has grown ever since. In 2008, the NIU Executive Club partnered with the YPN -- gaining support from the two organizations to grow the scholarship and increase its awareness.
The purpose of the scholarship is to attract exceptional freshmen applicants to Northern Illinois University. At the same time, the NIU Executive Club and YPN wish to provide the scholarship recipients with the ingredients necessary to be a successful future business leader. The NIU Executive Club and YPN strive to provide mentor and internship opportunities to the scholarship recipients.
