Mark, an Illinois CPA, attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (B.S. Accountancy) and Northwestern University (MBA‐Finance and Accounting). He has worked in public accounting (Ernst & Young), and has directed accounting, financial analysis and internal audit departments at several Fortune 500 companies, including serving as Controller and Treasurer at Nicor National.
In addition to his many years of experience in public accounting and the corporate world, Mark taught Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Auditing at several local universities (including Elmhurst College, Benedictine University and Loyola University) before coming to NIU, where he teaches Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting in the M.A.S. and MBA programs. One of his areas of interest is the accounting and financial aspects of Business Combinations (Mergers & Acquisitions).
He has contributed to the profession in various ways -- providing Continuing Professional Education to the Institute of Management Accountants and Illinois CPA Society, being published in the CPA Journal and serving as liaison with the American Institute of CPAs for NIU to be a CPA Exam Field Test site.
