Master of Business Administration

Master of Accountancy

Change careers in two years. Our Master of Accountancy program is designed for working professionals without an accountancy degree who would like to change careers and become eligible to sit for the CPA exam. Courses are taught by our nationally recognized faculty and are designed to develop your technical accounting knowledge regardless of the subject of your previous degree. Our students come from diverse educational backgrounds such as anthropology, art history, communication studies, computer science, finance and history. Our Naperville location and evening course schedule offerings allow you to continue your education on a part-time basis while balancing work and family commitments.

Master of Accountancy Science

Become a technically proficient leader. Our nationally ranked Master of Accounting Science program integrates technical accounting knowledge with the leadership and professional skills you need to be successful in today’s complex business environment. Our one-year program provides you with advanced accounting knowledge. You will also develop the critical thinking, data analysis and communication skills that are essential for a career in accounting. You can select from three areas of focus—data analytics in accounting, financial reporting and assurance or taxation—or you can work with your advisor to tailor a program to meet your academic and career goals. 

 

Master of Science In Data Analytics (online)

Gain deep insights from big data.  Move beyond trends; envision new possibilities.  Data analytics is embedded in all industries, business functions, and employee workflows.  This intensive program prepares you for data science, one of the fastest growing fields by far. 

Our approach focuses on real-world learning experiences so that you will be able to readily apply your skills in a range of contexts and industries.  You’ll be exposed to Hadoop, R, Python, SQL, SAP Predict Analytics, SAS, Tableau and other cutting-edge technologies.  When you graduate from this program, you will earn a joint Data Analytics Certification from NIU and SAS, the leader in data analytics software.

 

Master of Science in Digital Marketing (online)

Launch your career into the future with digital marketing prowess.   Marketing is about creating, communicating and delivering value to customers and society at large.  As digital technologies continue to evolve, organizations are now able to identify, connect and engage with their consumers using cutting-edge online technologies.  Many organizations, however, do not have a clearly defined digital marketing strategy.  Organizations desire but struggle to find talent who possess strong digital skills.

Master of Science in Financial Risk Management (STEM)

Manage risk.  Influence strategy.  Forward-thinking individuals who seek to deepen their business and financial expertise are attracted to this program.  NIU’s MSFRM brings together strategic decision making, corporate governance and organizational design while also emphasizing the dimensions of risk, the drivers of risk and financial instruments (including swaps, futures, forwards and options). 

This program was designed in collaboration with executives from the Federal Reserve, Commodity Futures Trading Commission and National Futures Association, among other financial organizations.  We also partner with the Global Association of Risk Professionals, the only globally recognized association for risk managers.  GARP partners only with an elite group of top graduate business schools worldwide, including NIU.

Master of Science Management Information Systems (STEM)

This program effectively integrates the technical area of computer technology with business operations.  We’ll prepare you for leadership roles in the digital age.

You’ll focus on current information technologies and contemporary information management models as a means to maximize organizational performance in the new economy.  You’ll learn from NIU faculty who possess extensive teaching and research expertise in big data, database management, data mining, business analytics, business intelligence, data modelling, business enterprise computing, networking and telecommunications, project management, Internet and web computing, systems analysis and design, enterprise resource planning, and social media analytics.
