Biography

Shannon Gates is a "Double Huskie," having received her undergraduate degree in marketing and graduate degree in industrial management. She began her career at NIU as an admissions counselor in 1995, which helped steer her toward her career path in academic advising.

Gates currently advises business administration (last name, A-L) and operations and information management majors, as well as business analytics minors.

She aims to serve students with compassion, integrity and equity; to build rapport and collaborate with students throughout their NIU experience; to help students navigate and achieve their personal, academic and career goals; and to educate, equip and empower students with the resources available to succeed.
