The Young Alumni Board (YAB) of the College of Business is an organization of recent business graduates who strive to add value to the College of Business and its students by sponsoring initiatives and activities that promote the professional development and career preparedness of current business undergraduate students.
Mission
The mission of the NIU Young Alumni Board of the College of Business at Northern Illinois University is to support the mission of the NIU College of Business while increasing engagement of young alumni, enhancing the career development of current business students, and providing mutually beneficial business, career, and networking opportunities to its members.
Create strong connections with the College of Business and fellow young alumni for networking opportunities.
Work with peers who support career growth who all represent a unique alumni population in the College of Business.
Educate current undergraduate students with career development advice and preparation for post-graduation careers/life.
Supporting the College of Business continued success and network of alumni.
Executive Committee
The executive committee of the Young Alumni Board sets the goals and direction of the organization and authorizes board actions in support of both its own and the college missions.
Membership Guidelines
In general, the membership of the Young Alumni Board consists of a maximum of 30 College of Business alumni who have graduated with their business degree within the past 10 years. Depending on your graduation year, this is a reoccurring membership fee upon acceptance into the Young Alumni Board. Your submitted application will be acknowledged by the membership committee in a timely fashion.
