Center for Entrepreneurship and Social Impact

We'll empower you to change the world as you study social entrepreneurship with national leaders in the field. You'll have an impact in the classroom and the outside world as you use your business skills to create solutions to some of the world's most urgent social problems, such as hunger, poverty, violence and gender inequalities.

Pitch With a CAUSE

Pitch with a CAUSE is a competition open to anyone with an idea for a business that makes a positive social or environmental impact. The competition is open to anyone interested in making a submission, including high school students, undergraduate students, graduate students and community members. Everyone is welcome.

Experiential Learning

As part of the microfinance course, you'll learn about microlending and how access to capital changes the lives of the poor. The class is unique in that it is small, usually limited to 10 students. You'll develop an understanding of microfinance through interactive activities, engaging case studies and lively discussions. Toward the end of the semester, you'll travel to Mexico, where you'll gain valuable experiences and apply the knowledge you have learned.

This course allows you to engage with social entrepreneurs abroad. You'll learn consulting techniques, visit the social entrepreneurs to gather data and help them develop sound business models to grow their enterprises. The class is limited to 10 students.
